Niykee continues to write songs despite having been part of the recent chaos. Her selection was made to be part of this year's YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and the rapper was with her on stage. The young producer is now fascinated by Niykee. She constantly checks out the new beats. A lot of them inspire music ideas. I can tell if a beat is excellent after just five seconds, and I'll get a song in my mind and begin writing immediately she says. My guitar sits on the back of my porch and I let the lyrics flow. It's usually done within thirty minutes. Niykee is continuing to improve her abilities as a poet and lyrics writer. She explains how the trauma she endured in the past is a constant sources of motivation. "Even in the absence of writing about my life directly the grief of losing my sister and my painful childhood experiences are integrated into my songs," she says. It shapes my songs and creates a deeper meaning under everything which is among the most significant things that I value. It is important to me to realize that I can listen to any one of my music 20 years later and be happy with what I said.
